"What a spectacular adventure I had the past few days. From seeing the Kilauea volcano's steam vent up close to the views of the sea arch from amidst lava flows, our entire trip was fantastic. The camp itself is rustic. The accommodations are "historic" but maintained very well. We were just a short walk from the cafe where we had a hearty breakfast every morning. KMC is truly a hidden treasure especially if you enjoy geological history, peace and quiet..."

"Phenomenal experience staying at an active volcano, the jetted hot tub is just a small bathtub with water jets that lowkey look kinda dirty. The rooms come with umbrellas with are super usefull the amenities around the camp are great, and the steam vents are a short walk away which have a tiny hike to a lookout into the volcano. Prices at the convenience store are a bit steep. If you rented a car I would recommend stopping by a..."

"It's all about proximity to the Volcano. The facility is showing its age (WWII). Rooms show not a touch of anything modern or new, but the plumbing and kitchen fixtures were all functional. To a person, the staff was friendly and helpful. Food basics at reasonable prices are available at the centrally located store. Our only meals were at the Lava Lounge, adequate but not inspirational. Parking for most units was close by street parking. The NPS staff providing tours..."

"Great location - especially since Kilauea is erupting. We loved walking across the street from our cabin to see what was happening at the volcano. We also had a lot of fun at trivia night in the Lava Lounge. They had music most other nights and the band on Saturday night was awesome and everyone was dancing. The staff was friendly and accommodating."

"We have the opportunity to stay here at KMC. The initial room was not satisfactory but the reservation/front desk staff went above and beyond to help get us a satisfactory set up. (I wish we got their names to give them a shout out) We like the location at Volcano National Park. There are nice/simple amenities for having a relaxing time. If you have the ability to stay here, it's a very good option for being on this side of..."

"What an experience! We were there during episode 41 so it was crazy outside. We loved our room (2 br 1 bath cottage) the bathtub was so deep! All of the food we ate at the dining hall was good. Bowling inside of a national park, kinda awesome. Every staff member we had any interaction with was friendly and just wanted to help. Really neat arcade. Everything was walking distance from our cabin. We only got one night but we..."

"Location trumps all failings. Don't know how you can call a lodging an "apartment" without a kitchen, but they do. Cabins are very clean and comfortable. Staff is very helpful. Rim cafe dinners are well prepared. Lava lounge lava bites were a welcome surprise."

"Great location close to Kilauea volcanoe.(walking distance). Camp is a little old, (maybe as old as 1950's) but clean units, some units appear to have been updated and some look a little "tired". You can have a great time time bowling if the weather isn't cooperating (we had some rain). A small general store for anything you might need last minute. Staff here are very friendly, very accommodating and very helpful, very Aloha. Experienced Park rangers very informative and funny."
